Fun Effects and Editing

Today was yet another day of working on the music video. Me and my group had spent the two previous days filming our music video and now it was time to edit the project. Since all of our best clips had been put in a file earlier, it made it a lot easier to edit as we knew exactly what we were looking for. The first step in editing was putting all the clips in the right order according to the storyboard. The order of the scenes was planned out in the storyboard which made it easy to decide which scenes were before or after the others. Luke took the main lead in editing as he was the one who had the software on his computer. After that the music was added to the video. Our song was Pompeii and we put it over the all of the scenes and the video had started to finally come together. Next we removed all other sounds from the video other than the music. I then took lead of shortening the song to make it fit over our short video. Nest we trimmed each clip. Cayden took charge of this as he had much experience in doing this before with other videos he had made. Each clip was trimmed and edited to fit the audio as well as the beat. We also did this to fit the time constraints the assignment had called for. Next, the effects were added to the video. Ely had taken charge of this part and multiple video as well as audio affects were added to the video. The first effect that was added was a filter. This filter was used on scenes 3-7 and made it clear that these scenes were a flashback. We also added a zoom affect to show what was going on in the actors minds. Finally, we added an audio affect. We used a heart monitor beeping then flat lining in the scene where the old man dies. Overall, it was a very productive day and I learned a lot about editing videos.
