Final Task: Final Product

Image
Today I have completely finished the final task. Although it took lots of hard work and persistent effort the last two months, me and my group got the job done and have done a very good job as well. At the start of the project, I had expected this to be a very difficult process, with the final result to turn out as poor or below standard. I quickly learned though that with good planning, proper time usage, and a high work ethic, that this project would go better than I had expected. There were many ups and downs and many parts that were very difficult to work around. The hardest obstacle I had to overcome was editing and agreeing on problems as a group. Editing came as a struggle throughout the project as none of us had much experience with using editing, but with practice, we were able to overcome this obstacle and move forward. Working as a group was also hard at times as many times disagreements would occur that would have to be settled in some way. After we figured out a voting sy

Production Blog: Finally Finished

Image
Today we have finally finished our final task. For the past 2 months, me and my group have been continuously working on our final task project. We spaced out what we needed to do in order to get it done as quickly and efficiently as possible, and made sure we had enough time to produce a very solid film. Taking time to plan and research before we began filming also helped immensely with creating our film. We spent the first few weeks planning on where our film would take place, what it would be about, and what genre it would be. After landing on a genre and planning out a location to film, we began researching films similar to what we had planned and scoped out what we wanted our film to look like. After this, we created the storyboard and looked for music that we could incorporate into our film. Lots of time and planning went into the film before we actually started filming. After finishing the planning process, we began filming at our location which ended up being my house and basin

Production Blog: Self Review

Image
Today, I decided I wanted to make a blog different than the others so I can go back and reflect on me and my project as a whole. As the final task comes to an end as we wrap up our work and progress, I felt like I would be a good time to review what I have done. For one, I must say that I think I have greatly improved in group situations and working cooperatively. Working with a sizable group of people like this is not always easy, ideas conflict and distractions happen easier. Throughout the project, working with my group has allowed me to collaborate better as well as get my ideas across easier. Me and my group worked very well together, getting stuff done fast, on time, and efficiently which is another thing that I commend myself and my group with. My skills in production and film making have also greatly improved through the making of this project. Having to work multiple roles such as filming, acting, planning, and editing has helped my skills in the film making process immensely

Film Review: Changes Made

Image
Today I finished making the changes that had been addressed earlier in my film review. In the film review, I was tasked with sending my film to my friends dad where he was to review it and give me unbiased feedback based on what he thought about the film and how it could be better.  The main points he had made in his review is the need to fix many of the editing aspects in the film including making it simpler and removing unnecessary special effects. He also put an emphasis on music and the fact that it should only be used in scenes that actually need it rather than being forced. We fixed these points of emphasis by going back and seeing how the film could be improved using these points as a guideline. Going back and reviewing the film again, we had also seen what he had been seeing with the special effects and decided to get rid of them completely as they did not add to the film as intended. To address the music issue, we had cut down music to scenes that needed them most, limiting o

Film Review

Today I started the film review process. To do this, I was tasked with sending my film so far to a peer of mine in order to see their feedback to see what I can improve upon in my film. I decided to send my film to my friends dad who had not been working on the project with me and my group to see his feedback. I expected to see a positive outcome as I believe that me and my group have done a very good job of putting our project together so far. After getting his feedback, these are the main points that he had talked about with our project. Overall, he said it was very well put together and clearly took much time and effort. Although, he did criticize the way we implemented our music throughout the whole sequence instead of just for the scenes that needed it most. We plan to change that in the future and also saw that as an issue coming into the film review. He also said some of the special effects used may have been too much and did little to add to the project and instead drew away f
