Production blog: A Productive First Day of Fiming

Last weekend was the first day we began filming our final task. The production process of our project had finally began. Me and my group all went to our filming location to begin the process. Upon arrival, we changed into our costumes and prepared to film. We set up our film set and took a few minutes to set the camera angles and discuss how each shot would be taken. We then started to film our first scene. Each actor got into positions and our camera man got into his place as well. Once we were all set up, the camera did a countdown and the filming began. A few mistakes were made on the first couple of shots such as a missed line or laughing where it was supposed to be serious. We also switched the positions of the actors and cameras based on how we thought they could be adjusted to look better. It was a process of trial and error but eventually things started rolling and we began filming smoothly. There were many times where shots had to be redone as actors or the camera man had messed up. Some scenes were also reshot as we thought they could have looked better or been tweaked slightly to make the shot better. It was getting late though and we had commenced the process of our first scene. We then took down the set and took off our wardrobe. This had concluded day one of our filming. Overall it was a productive day and we got a lot done but there is still much more that must be done. I as well as my group mates are all excited to see how it turns out.
