How do your products represent social groups or issues?
How do the elements of your production work together to create a sense of ‘branding’?
How do your products engage with the audience?
How did your research inform your products and the way they use or challenge conventions?

My products represent specific social groups and issues by stereotyping a particular group and sticking with common misconceptions or general beliefs about that group. The group addressed in my products is American teenagers and they are a group often overlooked by the public and often shown unnecessary hate and mistreatment. When seen out in groups in public, people often assume that teenagers are up to no good and tend to frown upon them within our society. In my products, I try and stick with this sort of generalization made for this group, in order to symbolize how the public likes to envision this group on a day-to-day basis. To achieve this, the characters in my products present themselves as lazy and delinquents, often names assigned to them by the American public, to fit within this stereotype. Another social group represented within my film is that of the lower socioeconomic classes. Throughout my products, it can be seen that the characters are less fortunate, hence their need to rob a bank. My goal in representing these social groups in my products was to hopefully bring awareness to some of the unrealistic stereotypes put on them as well as the unnecessary hate these groups receive for being different than the general public in America.

In my production process, all elements such as product design, costumes and props, camera angles, camera shots, sound, and editing are carefully considered to create a cohesive brand image. Consistency in these elements helped to establish a recognizable brand identity, which was crucial to building brand awareness. I used these different elements to develop a branding that was unique to my film. For one, the different costumes and props used in my production were specifically chosen to help build a uniqueness within the film that would give it a sense of individuality. Camera work was another big part of the production process and was made to stand out especially. I attempted to use camera angles and shots that were out of the ordinary to develop character within the film and build a brand that could be easily recognized. Sound became another big part of brand development as I toyed around with different music to see if I could create something special. I believe this was achieved in the last scene, especially where classical music is played over a fast-paced scene to give it an even more intense effect. All these elements together create a sense of a unified and distinct brand image, which helps to differentiate it from competitors and build a strong presence in the industry.

My products engage with the audience by connecting to them on an emotional level, as well as providing them with a unique experience that can engage with the audience on a deeper level. The plot and characters in my film evoke emotions that resonate with the audience, which make them feel connected to the story and characters. My products also engage with the audience using suspenseful elements such as cliffhangers and plot twists that keep the audience engaged and invested in the story. An example of this is on my film’s social media accounts, where little clips and snippets of the movie are posted to keep the audience on their toes and eager to know what happens next. My products can also be engaging on their relatability to the audienceSome audience members may be able to relate to the characters and situations in the film, making it more personal, emotionally satisfying and engaging. Through the use of social media, I was also able to create products that engage with my audience by creating and sharing content that is relevant, engaging, and informative. Releasing teasers about the film on social media helped keep the audience engaged by causing spur among the community and keeping the audience talking about the film. Ultimately, my products of film focus on delivering a captivating experience that resonates with my audience and inspires them to continue engage with my content.

My research informed my products by helping to identify target audiences, their needs, preferences, and expectations. My preliminary research allowed me to pinpoint the demands of my target audience and identify how to engage them most effectively. My research also assisted in identifying existing conventions within my product category, which could then be used in my products or challenged to improve upon them. I knew that by creating products that challenge conventions, I could make my products more engaging and thought provoking, making them unique from other products of film. I dove further into how I could possibly challenge the typical conventions of my products and possibly improve upon them using new techniques Although, I also continued to research the typical conventions of my products and identified which practices may work best for my products. I investigated films in the genre I would be filming, action, and took note of which things worked best and what I would like to incorporate in my film, as well as taking notes of things I did not find appealing. I repeated this process many times until I had a general idea of what I wanted my film to look like. Next, I researched the different marketing strategies of films and how they incorporate all their products in the film production process to create a cohesive marketing scheme throughout all their advertising. I took note of what I could use from their products and later incorporated them into my products. Research is a crucial element in the creation and development of the different products of film and by using conventions and extensive research in how they could assist my film, I believe my products are very well executed.
